Challenge yourself to the limit in the amazing setting of the Cheviot Hills. This long distance trail running event caters for not just you but friends and family as we stage it on the grounds of Clennell Hall Country House which has rooms to rent or you can use our free camping to stay for the weekend (tell us if you’re doing that). The majesty of the high fells will inspire you to keep pushing onwards through the Northumberland National Park.
Held under UK Athletics rules in association with the Trail Running Association.
There are two distances to choose from: the 26 mile Clennell Trail Marathon or the shorter 10 mile route. The 10 mile route has all the fun but none of the pain of the big loop!
CLENNELL TRAIL MARATHON
On this route you will climb some serious hills, cross over rivers, pass through forest and flirt with the England Scotland border as you follow the Pennine Way. All of this is done with the backing of the dedicated High Fell Events team who will encourage you all the way.
We will provide food, drinks and smiles as you make your way from checkpoint to checkpoint. We have a kitlist you need to take on our website and we will be emailing you in advance of the event to remind you of this. Have a look at the event profile and you will get an idea of the kind of challenge you are taking on:
10 MILE ROUTE
You will follow the same route as the marathon runners and then when they divert off into the madness this route will steadily head higher before descending through forest and winding its way back to Clennell Hall. Guaranteed to get your heart going but once you’ve “got high” there’s nothing left to worry about as the hardest bit is behind you.
MOUNTAIN RESCUE DONATION
A part of each entry gets donated towards the Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team who’s services are essential in keeping the area as open and accessible as it is. These volunteers can be called out at any time to ensure the safety of all comers who use the area.
At the end of the event you will receive an event t-shirt and the satisfaction at having achieved a great feat of endurance. We look forward to welcoming you with open arms and helping you meet your goals. Go on, challenge yourself!
You must register with racenumber to enter this event, 1 ticket per registered user. You must be 18 years or over. Remember to choose your t-shirt size as well as the event you want to enter.
